An Unexpected Review of Dirge of Cerberus
Yep. Not a joke. I'm talking about the "bad game" that people say is probably the worst part of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. I played it when it came out back in 2006 and just did a playthrough yesterday. (Which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2QytKJcFis ) (Though good luck trying to understand me as my mic was set waaaaay too low). Anyway I like this game. I know it's not the best out there by any means but the hate it gets I feel is unwarranted. I get it's probably nostalgia to the edge lord I was as a freshman in high school. But in general I think the game is fun. For a late era PS2 game, the character graphics are actually very good. The areas are typical PS2 quality. Definitely an upgrade from last time. Holy shit... Star Ocean The Divine Force (Called SO6 from here on out) is a superb improvement from Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness (SO5) A bit of background I guess on the Star Ocean series overall and my stances on it: I’ve been a major Star Ocean fan for nearly 20 years and have played all the main games (not finished SO1 though). I started with SO3 and consider it my favorite in the series. SO4 was an upgrade in some ways and a major downgrade in others. That game had terrible characters but some fair rebalancing of the combat. (Though less strategy and more brute force). SO5 though was a downgrade from that for a different reason: Laziness. The game was using mostly recycled animations and even some models from SO4 and SO3. The main character’s moveset was mostly copied from Fayt Leingod (Right down to using Ethereal Blast, which breaks canon in my mind). SO5 was also very short, I was being thorough and still beat it in ~35 hours. The
