Generic line about "with the release of the Royal Edition of Final Fantasy XV I am going to do a second review" (Most likely spoilers)

I'm not going to tackle the categories like I had before with the original review.
So anyway I just beat the royal edition. (Haven't tackled Omega yet though but mostly focusing on the DLCs, updates, and Royal Edition content)
I like the improvements the game's received. The updates adding the off road Regalia was nice, the occasional story additions also helped clarify things here and there.

Episode Gladiolus- I'd say it was the least enjoyable of the DLCs. It's a common sentiment but it's true. It's obviously forced and we don't get anything really interesting about his character. It's only with the addition of controlling your allies can you see Gladio improving from his DLC since you gain a new skill from it. His fighting style is effective though.

Episode Prompto- A definite improvement and his gun gameplay is alright. His story is much better than Gladio's as well. I like the addition of the small open world zone as well with quests and collectibles to find. Also Aranea is always a treat to be around.

Episode Ignis- Easily the best of the story related DLCs. While it doesn't delve into his backstory too much (AKA one clip of a scene), it still drives home his love for his friend and his drive to keep him safe. Plus is also gives a semi open world zone to explore with collectibles and objectives to kill time. Also the alt ending it gives is fun to play and intense.

Comrades Multiplayer- It's fun. You're much more mortal than the main game since you don't have items to heal and revive constantly. The missions can be a bit repetitive and I'm still wanting you to be able to explore the dungeons like in the main game. The story is pretty bare and mostly is just a follow up to Kingsglaive. Not a bad thing though. The combat is great and the customization is excellent. The updates to it also add some more tough as hell battles. (It took me a few tries to beat Ifrit) (Pretty sure I was underleveled)

Royal Expansion- Really it's not a definitive edition since there's 4 more DLC episodes coming out. Anyway the improvements are mostly to chapter 14. The Insomnia map is MUCH bigger which is nice. The calm sense the original had while going to the Citadel is quickly changed to an urgent charge to save the day. Plus the Kingsglaive show up. This includes your own you made in comrades for a mission. (I really hope you can get to have them join you more often) The new bosses were all fun. (Again, have not fought Omega yet) The ending to the game hasn't changed in any way though. The previous bosses had some tweaking though. Or at least Ardyn gained some moves from Episode Ignis (Also feels more aggressive) and stage 2 of the fight is spread out further so it doesn't feel so crammed.

Final Conclusion:
Overall I'm pleased with these improvements and am eagerly awaiting Episode Ardyn when it comes out... Sometime this year. Final Fantasy XV has come a long way since release. I was disapointed with it initially but that gave way to joy as things continued to get better. For anyone who is interested in getting it, feel free. I will admit though if you want to get a full experience though, probably best to wait for the last 4 DLC episodes to come out.
With these improvements I give Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition:

8.0/10

Also FFXIII still sucks and is the most boring/worst FF in the mainline series.

I am quite happy with FFXV as a whole, what I really hope to see in future updates is a cooperative story mode. I think I recall (having not replayed it YET) that you can control any of the main four characters now? So it stands to reason that four friends could play cooperatively, even if it means swapping a main character for a "kingsglaive" character if and when it's applicable. I read somewhere that the developer asked people how they'd feel about more endings as well, so we might have that to look forward to
